Dallas World Aquarium

Ha, ha. Two posts in one day. On Friday, Scott, the kids and I went to the Dallas World Aquarium. This is a picture of the waterfall at the beginning of the tour. We saw exotic birds, fish, monkeys and other animals. Finley loved the Giant River Otters and the fish. Jake liked the sharks and the other unique fish. Noah like the bugs and bats. Maddie liked the monkeys, of course. The kids all had a good time and want to go back. Scotty and I would like to go back when it is less crowded, like that would ever happen. It is a neat place and you could spend all day there.

the 912 project

I was surfing around and found this interesting site, http://www.the912project.com/. It basically says that America needs to get back to the basics of the 9 principles and 12 values.

9 principles are
1.America Is Good.

2.I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the external rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address.

3.I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington

4.The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is know. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson

5.If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson

6.I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7.I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8.It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9.The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

12 principles are

Honesty
Reverence
Hope
Thrift
Humility
Charity
Sincerity
Moderation
Hard Work
Courage
Personal Responsibility
Gratitude

I don't know about you but this is something that I can get on board with. I think America has gotten away from all of this. We need to become the great nation we once were. I know that we can do it again.

Today is the Day!!!

Today is the day that they close my end of the road. Yes, you hear right. The rail road are closing my end of the road instead of fixing it. We had like 9 inches of rain in a couple of hours in 2007 that had no where to go. It washed some ofthe crossing on the highway side out.

As you can see, the water was plentyful. The kids were late to school that day since we couldn't get out. We contacted the County and they said that it was not their problem, it was the Rail Road's problem. The RR said that it was the Highway Department's problem. Well after two years of waiting, I guess it is the RR's problem. Since they are the ones, tearing up my road. The good is that my neighbors won't be speeding down my road any more and that the train doesn't have a crossing to blow the horn for. The bad is that now I have to go around to get to the highway. Noah will have to get up earlier so that he won't be late to school. Here is what they are doing now.
I will have more pictures later. But as you can see, it is slow going and in this picture they haven't even started. Well it gotta make my long trip around to pick the kids up at school.
